What never fails you

I would like to invite you to take a moment to meditate on the indisputable truth that you are deeply loved by God.  This truth is so great that it cannot be fully comprehended by the human mind; and yet, embracing this truth changes everything. Think for a moment, your Heavenly Father created everything that you see: plants, trees, the sunrise, majestic mountains, and roaring waves. All things, both seen and unseen, have been created and orchestrated by God.  And yet, in the midst of unfathomable greatness and beauty, God chose You to host His love. Your Heavenly Father so longs for you to receive His love that He created within your heart the need to be loved, and this need can only be satisfied by Him alone. The love between parent and child, husband and wife, friend and friend, can only mirror (reflect) this love at best, because this love deficit can only be fully satisfied by God. Your Heavenly Father's love is pure, unconditional, sacrificial, and enduring. His love will never abandon you. His  love will never disappoint you. His love will never fail you. Take a moment, several moments throughout your day, and meditate on the truth that you are so deeply loved. You did not earn it. In fact, the Love of the Father is too  perfect to earn with human effort.  His love for you is based upon His very nature.

1 John 4: 9.10 "In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He First loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
Who you really are

It may be difficult to see yourself as God’s perfect gift, but you truly are God’s beautiful treasure.  It’s hard to comprehend that God longs for fellowship with you.  A closeness that can only be experienced between God and man; nothing else can compare.  Many believers think that following a checklist of right and wrong behaviors is what’s required.  Or perhaps serving in some capacity for the sake of the gospel is all that’s needed; it’s not.  Working for God is not the same as working in response to the sound of His voice.  When one seeks to earn “brownie points”, It’s distant and can easily become legalistic and self-righteous in nature. However, responding to His voice is very intimate.  It’s a heart that longs for communion with the Savior; His voice becomes your delight.  Ministry that comes from intimacy is a response to please Him, the lover of your soul.   By contrast, the checklist or “self-motivated ministry” can set you on the road to idolatry.

One way to determine if you have fallen into idolatry is to ask yourself if what you are affectionate about is more important to you than pleasing God.  This would even include ministry and good works.  If the thought of God asking you to give up what you are doing for Him makes you angry, you are worshipping your ministry; It has become your identity.  It is what you behold with admiration and self-worth.  This is the attention that God wants from you, to be the one you behold!

2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Setting your affection on Jesus transforms you into His likeness, bringing fellowship and intimacy with Jesus and giving birth to your destiny.

God knows what you’ve been designed to accomplish in your life.  He knows your love-language and understands the longing of your heart.  He listens to your desires and plants dreams within you.  Likewise, we’ve been given the Holy Spirit that we might know what brings Him pleasure.  As you pursue God with all your heart, He will begin to show you what pleases Him, and you will discover His love for you and for those around you.  You will feel and respond to His heart of compassion for others.  Not just those who look and think the same way you do.  Genuine love for others that is truly unconditional in nature.  The love of God flowing through you to others opens the door for divine encounter.  He wants you to experience sweet fellowship with Him.  His love flowing like a river, reaching out to those in need.  This brings pleasure to the Father.  Such an encounter brings a deeper love for Jesus, and a greater revelation of His ways.  It’s an adventure that never ends.

John 7:38, 39 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.  But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive;”

The Holy Spirit yearns to bring you into such intimacy that He flows like a river through you.  This is intimacy and a wonderful demonstration of love.

Give God yourself.  Offer yourself in sweet surrender to the one who gave all He had for you.  He longs to bring you close.  You are His greatest gift and the object of His affection.  You are His treasure and His delight.  He desires intimacy with you!

Ephesians 5:1 “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.
